My Story

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. I guess that’s what this is for me.

Born in Derby, I’ve been in the Kimberley my whole life, give or take a few years living away for school and other commitments. Was always interested in technology, just reached a point where I needed to further my learning.

Started my education journey in Derby, spent the mid years in Broome, then completed the final three years at Boarding school in Perth. After returning to Broome I continued my education doing a Bridging course at Edith Cowan University, then completing Cert 3 in IT and Cert IV in IT Networking.

Education is vital! For absolutely everyone and especially for my people in the Kimberley. We must strive to be better, to have purpose in this world, to not only survive but to thrive! Education gives us the tools to achieve this, though I understand the opportunities I’ve had, not everyone gets. So this is my passion and my obligation, to my family and my people here in the Kimberley.

It is also my passion to support others using what I have learnt, if my clients are happy then I’ve achieved what I came here for, and if they aren’t, there are lessons to be learnt! I will challenge myself to improve! Who knows where the journey leads when we give things a try, everyday brings new opportunities to build on my own skillset and develop my networks through Business interactions!

What’s with the hours?

I am contracted full time as ICT Systems Administrator with one of the Kimberley’s largest employers, which has afforded me the opportunity to conduct business on my own. Because of this contract, my hours during a normal working week are slightly outside ordinary hours (see homepage), however while it may seem restrictive, its been proven to work!

What’s in a name?

I chose Balba because this is the Taam (place) of my Gija ancestors. Balba is also the Gija name for Spinifex wax, extracted from the grass using fire, Balba forms the foundation for spearheads when spears are made. Likened to this, Information Technology forms the foundation of every modern business, it is much needed to survive, and thrive in the business world!
